Feeding your patients with produce out of your own #organic #farm. The patients love it!
St. Luke’s Rodale Institute has its own organic farm. Patients eat healthier meals and develop an increased awareness of the importance of food for overall well-being.
Organic farming
In 2014, St. Luke’s University Health Network and the Rodale Institute for organic farming started up an organic farm. The annual yield of 45,000 pounds from 10,000 acres and a greenhouse is utilized in the network of cafetarias and served to patients, employees and visitors.
Extra produce...
...will be sold to staff members and the community, allowing these individuals to make healthy eating choices in their own homes. Managing the farm is organic farmer Lynn Trizna, also known as Farmer Lynn.
